Knowledge assessment regarding electronic patient health records of B.Sc. Nursing Internship students

Abstract: Paper based records are the most common method of recording patient details, information in the hospitals in developing nation. Maximum hospitals in the India and other nation keep their patient’s medical health records in paper form. A new electronic system for handling patient’s health medical records requires an investment in software, hardware, and training of the health care personnel. A quantitative descriptive survey study was conducted to assess the knowledge regarding electronic patient health records of B.Sc. Nursing Internship students. 10 students of B.Sc. Nursing Internship were selected randomly. Data were collected through socio-demographic & structured knowledge questionnaire tools. The results showed that mean score of knowledge level of B.Sc. Nursing Internship students was 6.5 & this value indicate that B.Sc. Nursing Internship students were having average level of knowledge regarding electronic patient health records and there was significant association between knowledge scores with their selected socio demographic variables of B.Sc. Nursing Internship students.
