Abstract
This paper provides a comprehensive review of Load Frequency Control
(LFC) strategies in power systems with high penetration of renewable energy sources,
such as wind and solar. It examines various control techniques, including
traditional PID controllers, fuzzy logic, neural networks, and optimization
algorithms like Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Genetic Algorithms (GA).
With renewable energy's intermittent nature, LFC becomes critical to
maintaining grid stability. The paper discusses challenges, such as frequency
deviations and tie-line power fluctuations, and highlights advancements in
optimization methods that improve system reliability, response time, and
integration efficiency of renewable energy in power grids.
